What about my children?

We provide well-trained and screened workers for our children from birth to third grade during our worship services.  The greeters in the atrium will help you register your child and will be happy to explain where your child needs to go.  You can find out about our older youth ministry links on this website as well.

Nursery

The nursery is a safe and age appropriate environment where the children are shown God's love.  Nurseries are provided for infants through children two years of age during both the 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning worship service and the 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening service to allow parents the opportunity to worship during this time.  Chester Second Baptist Church is blessed to have nursery workers who will meet your child with a friendly greeting and caring words.  The children are allowed to enjoy activities such as singing, reading a book, snacks and exploring the variety of toys and books available to them.

Wednesday  Evenings  6:45-8:00 p.m.

The heart of AWANA is the gospel message of salvation.  Children are clearly taught the plan of salvation and memorize scripture verses to support their understanding.  It is a true joy to see children excited about participating in games, memory verses, and learning about God.

Council Time is held in all clubs and is a devotional time that allows for group discussions and lessons from the scripture.

During Game Time, the children work in teams to reach a goal.  The importance of being a "team player" is  emphasized.

During Handbook Time, children receive a handbook that contains Bible verses to memorize and activities to do.

DARE TO BE A DANIEL!!!

Article Pic

SMALL GROUP

The small group of boys and girls that are in 4th through 8th grades meet every other Friday night in the social hall from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.  We are doing a study called Dare to be a Daniel.  This study challenges boys and girls to be witnesses for Jesus Christ.  It takes them through the steps of being a witness.  They have workbooks and a website that they can use with the study.  Upon completion, they will receive a set of dog tags that has a prayer and the steps for leading someone to Christ.

The youth are really enjoying this small group.  We have so much more we want to do but we are taking it slow and enjoying the moment that God has given us.

As a leader of this group, I will say that I am learning as much or more than they are.  Praise the Lord!!!

The Great Commission - Matthew 28:19-20

19"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
